To help address underrepresentation in surgical specialties, I co-led a peer- and faculty-driven program introducing over 200 early-stage medical students to surgical and microsurgical techniques. The initiative combined hands-on skill-building with mentorship, significantly improving participant competence and confidence across core surgical tasks. Our approach fostered a psychologically safe learning environment and demonstrated measurable gains in both technical performance and career interest, contributing to a more inclusive pipeline into surgery.
